Associate Professor at Cornell University,
Cornell Energy System Institute

C. Lindsay Anderson is an Associate Professor in Biological and Environmental Engineering and the Interim Director of Cornell’s Energy Systems Institute. Lindsay’s research interests lie broadly in enabling high penetration of renewable resources and supporting the transition to a sustainable energy future, and involves collaboration with experts from academia, government, industry, and NGOs.  This is an interdisciplinary program, leveraging operations, optimization, as well as environmental and systems engineering. A core interest is in the integration of renewable energy into power grid operations, leveraging and coordinating distributed and demand side flexibility, and understanding system risk and resilience.

Prof. Anderson holds graduate field memberships (conducts research and supervises graduate students) in Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Systems Engineering, at Cornell.  Anderson received her Doctorate (Applied Mathematics) from The University of Western Ontario and Master of Science (Environmental Engineering) from the University of Guelph, both in Canada.
